The 29th World Gas Congress warm-up begins: the one-year countdown press conference for the 2025 World Gas Congress was successfully held!

Liu Heming, Chairman of the China City Gas Association, was recently invited to serve as the guest of honor at the launch ceremony of the "One-Year Countdown Conference for the 2025 World Gas Conference", which is the most important conference warm-up event held in China before the opening of the 29th World Gas Conference. The event was jointly organized by the International Gas Union (IGU), Beijing Gas Group Co., Ltd., and Capital Exhibition (Group) Co., Ltd. Nearly 400 people attended the event, including relevant associations and societies, experts from think tanks of well-known domestic universities and scientific research institutions, and representatives of top domestic and foreign energy companies and companies related to the upstream, midstream and downstream industrial chains of gas.


At the forum, experts from the conference believed that under the background of intensified global climate change and accelerated energy transformation, the development of natural gas faces challenges, but also great opportunities. As a clean and efficient energy, natural gas will continue to occupy an important position in the future energy system. The integrated development of natural gas and renewable energy is the direction of industry development. As the world's most promising gas market, China is an important engine of the global gas industry. Natural gas will play an important role in China's path to achieving the "dual carbon" goal.


The 29th World Gas Conference (WGC2025) will be held in Beijing, China for the first time from May 19 to 23, 2025. The scale of WGC2025 will be the largest ever, and it is expected to attract more than 3,000 representatives from more than 70 countries and regions to discuss forward-looking trends, seek business opportunities, share experience and technology, and jointly promote innovation and development in the energy industry.


At the same time, the World Gas Congress is a grand event attended by high-end industry professionals such as international organizations, energy giants, industry experts and scholars, and is known as the "Olympics" of the global gas industry. As the flagship conference of the International Gas Union (IGU), the conference is held every three years in the country where the IGU chairman is located. In May next year, this industry event with a history of nearly 100 years will come to China for the first time, with the theme of "Enabling a Sustainable Future" and held at the Beijing National Convention Center Phase II.


Zhou Yiwei, general manager of Capital Exhibition Group, a professional exhibition operation service provider for the 29th World Gas Congress, said that all preparations for the congress are proceeding in an orderly manner as planned. The congress will focus on six major themes and will organize more than 100 meetings, including keynote forums and various sub-forums. It plans to invite more than 500 speakers, including government officials, leaders of international organizations, leaders of internationally renowned energy companies, top industry experts, and scholars, to attend the congress. The congress will also hold an exhibition of 50,000 square meters, which is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors. The exhibition area has been basically booked.
