On April 16, the 2024 China Gas Heating Industry Annual Conference was grandly held in Shaoxing, Zhejiang. Wang Qi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Gas Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society, Hu Yu, Deputy Director of the National Gas Appliance Quality Inspection and Testing Center, Liu Hao, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Building Metal Structure Association, Wu Huimin, Vice President of the Clean Heating Branch of the China Building Metal Structure Association, Yu Junbiao, President of Zhejiang Chunhui Intelligent Control Co., Ltd., Tang Rong, Secretary-General of the China Gas Heating Professional Committee, and Li Wenshuo, Deputy Director of the Certification Center of China Municipal Engineering North China Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., attended the annual meeting. At the same time, nearly 200 representatives from gas wall-mounted boiler manufacturers, spare parts companies, data agencies, testing agencies, certification agencies, design research units, colleges and universities, gas companies, media representatives and other participants attended the meeting.
The meeting started on time at 9:00 am on April 16 and was chaired by Guo Qian from the National Gas Appliance Quality Inspection and Testing Center.
At the beginning of the meeting, Yu Junbiao, President of Zhejiang Chunhui Intelligent Control Co., Ltd., delivered a speech. On behalf of Chunhui Intelligent Control, General Manager Yu expressed the warmest welcome to all the guests and friends. The annual meeting of China's gas heating industry was held in Zhejiang for the first time, indicating that the wall-mounted boiler industry has moved from the northern part to the whole country. With the popularization of natural gas, gas wall-mounted boilers have received attention and development in Zhejiang. As one of the suppliers of wall-mounted boiler products, Chunhui Intelligent Control has been committed to product quality and industry development. The integrated waterway and other components it produces have reached the international first-class level and are gradually going global. Finally, on behalf of Chunhui Intelligent Control, General Manager Yu once again expressed his gratitude and welcome to all the representatives who attended the meeting, and wished this meeting a success.
Liu Hao, Deputy Secretary General of China Building Metal Structure Association/President of Comfortable Home Branch/Director of Radiant Heating and Cooling Committee, delivered a speech. Director Liu said that China Building Metal Structure Association and Gas Society have been cooperating and communicating for nearly 20 years since 2007, and organize many activities every year to contribute to the healthy development of the industry. Under the dual carbon goals, how to promote the development of the heating industry is a problem that both parties have discussed and urgently need to solve. The heating industry needs to save energy and increase efficiency, and consumers' rigid needs are gradually released, especially in the southern heating market. There are still opportunities. The association will continue to deepen cooperation with the Gas Society and the wall-mounted boiler industry and move forward together. Finally, I wish this meeting a success.
Wu Huimin, Vice President of the Clean Heating Branch of the China Building Metal Structure Association and Director of the Heating Radiator Committee, delivered a speech. Director Wu introduced the relevant policies on replacement and transformation issued by the State Council, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other government departments, and said that the heating replacement market still has great potential. He hopes to cooperate with the Gas Society in cross-industry aspects such as standard setting, brand building and industry publicity, and hopes that this meeting will be a success.

First, Director Wang reviewed the development history and key nodes of China's wall-mounted boiler industry.
The advantages and disadvantages of the coal-to-gas policy were then analyzed. The advantages are: first, it has greatly increased the market size of gas-fired wall-mounted boilers, reaching the peak of industry development in 2017. Second, it has expanded social influence and popularized the concept of gas heating; third, it has given gas-fired household heating a place in the heating industry and determined the political status of gas heating; fourth, it has contributed to the air governance in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region; and fifth, it is consistent with the dual carbon goals. The disadvantages of coal-to-gas are: first, it has promoted the blind expansion of the industry, resulting in serious overcapacity; second, a large number of bad products have flowed into the market, which has reduced the reputation of wall-mounted boilers in a sense; third, low-price competition is serious, and internal circulation has become a trend, popularizing and low-end products that were originally high-end, resulting in a sharp decline in profits; fourth, traditional wall-mounted boiler companies have been impacted, and a number of speculators have been added.
Then, Director Wang analyzed the current status of the industry. In 2023, the production and sales volume will be 2.37 million units, and the industry will present the following characteristics: First, the overall market for gas-fired wall-mounted boilers will decline, and the market performance will be poor; second, the development of condensing boilers will meet expectations, and market promotion will be steadily promoted; third, the end of the coal-to-gas policy will lead to a sharp decline in market sales, but the retail and engineering markets will remain stable; fourth, enterprises and related chain industries will have difficulties in survival; fifth, overcapacity will lead to a significant reduction in the number of enterprises, and some enterprises will be in a state of suspension. According to feedback from many parties, the head enterprises in the first quarter of 2024 were basically flat, with a slight increase, and the overall industry may decline.
Director Wang pointed out the next work focus:
一. The gas wall-mounted boiler market is not yet saturated, especially in the southern market where there is still room for growth. The general idea of future work is to do a good job in market promotion and expand market share.
1. The coal-to-gas market has basically ended, and some areas may have some surplus to be processed. In the future, we should do a good job in after-sales service and replacement market for coal-to-gas.
2. Actively strive for the real estate supporting market and expand high-quality users of fine-decorated houses.
3. Deeply tap into the incremental retail market.
1. Mixed hydrogen and pure hydrogen wall-mounted boilers are one of the future development directions, and relevant research and development work should be done well, especially in terms of safety and reliability. Put them into market trials as soon as possible to form production capacity.
2. The focus of condensing furnaces is product reliability and quality stability.
3. Continue to improve and improve ordinary furnace technology, including energy efficiency, load stability, hot water comfort, etc., and give it more intelligent elements.
4. Pay attention to the research and development of gas heat pumps.
5. Strengthen the research and development and improvement of important components.
1. There are 35 million gas-fired boiler users in China, and there are opportunities in the periodic replacement market.

Dr. Zhang Yangjun of China Municipal Engineering North China Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. gave a speech entitled "Statistical Analysis of the Gas Heating Hot Water Boiler Market in 2023".
